In other industries such as mining, production of chemicals by electrochemical processes and such esoteric systems as
resolving a racemate to give a required chiral drug, MHD can lower cost of production.
There are clearly enormous possibilities for batteries and supercapacitors with MHDT technologies.
A contract is in the negotiating stage with
a large chemical processing equipment manufacturer. The equipment produces
large quantities of an important chemical. Full scale electrodes have been
successfully magnetized and shipped back to the company.
The electrochemical industry uses about 6% of all electricity generated in
the US and the products are 16% of all chemicals produced in the country.
It is believed that these figures are larger in Canada and also in the EU. |
